Maryland Senior Olympics hold's
Annual Billiards Event
The event, held on
October 1st and 2nd, was hosted by Champion Billiards Sports Cafe's Towson Maryland
location. Cue sports now being a recognized sport by the International Olympics
Committee, a reality in which the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) was instrumental in
achieving, may lead to billiards becoming a national event in the U.S. Senior Olympics
Venue. BCA league operator (Ball in Hand) coordinated and directed the event.
56 men and 13 women, ranging in age from 50 - 94, vied for the gold, silver and bronze
medals. Players winning 4th, 5th or 6th place were awarded ribbons for their
efforts. Brackets of play were 5-year increments - 55-59, ...99-94. The 2 day
event once again proved that billiards is a sport that knows no age barriers.
